Battle Royale 1 is the official start of the inaugural season. It is an open invitational — no federation or national-team membership required — bringing together club, university, regional, and independent teams. International teams are welcome.

Athletes / Teams
- Maximum 32 teams
- Minimum 4 gymnasts per team, no maximum
- Any gender combination permitted
- Maximum 1 national-team member per country, and no more than 3 national-team members total — each from a different country (e.g. one Canadian, one American, and one British is fine; two Canadians or two British is not)
Eligibility
Minimum age: 16 years old as of December 31, 2026. Men compete Senior FIG routines; women compete Level 10 WAG. Teams are mixed — Senior Men and Level 10 Women.
One-day event
Elimination-style through Qualification Round, Semi-Finals, and Finals within a single day.
Qualification · 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Four qualification subdivisions, each lasting 80 minutes
- Each team performs 8 routines
- All scores count toward the team total
- Maximum 2 routines per apparatus
- Top 12 teams advance to semi-finals
The Mini Royale final round is staged on the same floor from 12:00 – 1:30 PM, between qualification subdivisions 2 and 3. Battle Royale qualification resumes at 1:45 PM.
Semi-Finals · Afternoon, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
- 12 teams
- Each team performs 6 routines
- All scores count
- Maximum 2 routines per apparatus
- 150-second time limit per routine (no extra time for falls)
- Top 4 teams advance to finals
Finals · Evening, 8:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- 4 teams
- Each team performs 4 routines
- All scores count
- One athlete competes at a time, rotating between teams
- Maximum 2 routines per apparatus, 1 vault
- Highest total score wins
Female and male vaults both count toward the vault routine limit — i.e. only two vaults, regardless of gender, may be competed.
Scoring & ranking
Your team gets the same number of points as the percentile of your rank on the apparatus. First on an event scores 100, last scores 0. Beat 80% of the other athletes on that event and you bank 80 points for your team. Team points reset every round.

Worked example — 11 gymnasts on an event
Each dot is one routine, ranked best to worst. The best earns 100, the last earns 0, everyone else lands evenly in between (1st 100, 2nd 90, 3rd 80 … 10th 10, 11th 0).
Ties
- When athletes tie, they share the spots they'd normally occupy and each gets the average of those points — so a 2-way tie for 2nd/3rd both get (90+80)/2 = 85.
- For 3 tied at 2nd/3rd/4th, they split those three spots: (90+80+70)/3 = 80 each — and nobody else's points change.
- Final-score ties are not broken by execution or difficulty. If the same final score appears, it stands as a tie.

- Names and details for each gymnast and coach (you can create them in the system during registration)
Step-by-step (new to Gym Art Meets)
- 1Go to meets.gymart.org and create a free Gym Art account, then sign in.
- 2Create a club profile when prompted. Enter your team name as the club name.
- 3From the Club Dashboard, open your gymnast roster and create each competing athlete (most teams have not added them before — add everyone now).
- 4Add each coach to your club roster the same way.
Upload floor music (before or during registration)
- From your Club Dashboard, open Music (not inside the meet registration screen).
- Upload each gymnast's floor music file to your club library.
- Assign each file to the correct gymnast and set one primary track per gymnast for this meet.
- When you register gymnasts for the meet, confirm each athlete has a primary music file selected.
You can verify music tracks again during warm-ups on competition day.

- 10Open the cart, confirm your selections, and complete payment (see options below). Keep your confirmation email — your spot is not held until payment is complete.

Fees
- Athlete fee: $250.00 CAD (late registration $300.00 CAD)
- Coach fee: $150.00 CAD
Fees are charged in CAD for Canadian teams. U.S. teams are charged the same amounts in USD.

- E-transfer: send payment to payments@gymart.org. Include your team name in the transfer message or memo.

Each delegation is responsible for reserving their own hotel accommodations.

Travel
All information related to the competition can be found on the event website. It is the responsibility of the delegate to check the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information. Participating teams are responsible for all travel expenses for their delegation, unless otherwise stated in the official invitation.
Visa
Please confirm as soon as possible whether a visa is required for travel to Canada by consulting your travel agent or the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate. Visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to or through Canada must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Exceptions include U.S. citizens and travellers holding a valid Canadian visa. Canadian citizens (including dual nationals) and permanent residents do not require an eTA. If assistance is required in obtaining the appropriate travel documents, the event organizers are happy to help.
Image rights consent
By registering for the Battle Royale Invitational, the athlete, and where applicable a parent or legal guardian, consent to the use of the athlete's images, audio recordings, video recordings, and likeness, as well as the collection, use, and integration of comments from the athlete or their family by Gym Art Inc., its partners, contractors, and subcontractors, for promotional, educational, informational, broadcast, or commercial purposes related to the Battle Royale Invitational.
These materials may be used on all media platforms, including but not limited to print, digital, electronic, and other media formats. They may be incorporated into documents, publications, marketing materials, livestreams, websites, social media platforms, mobile applications, and other multimedia projects accessible to the public.
The athlete, and where applicable a parent or legal guardian, releases Gym Art Inc., the Battle Royale organizing committee, its administrators, employees, partners, and sponsors from any responsibility or liability arising from the use of such images, recordings, or comments.
The athlete agrees to this authorization without financial compensation for themselves or their family. This consent applies to the current edition of the Battle Royale Invitational.
Coaches, judges & volunteers
Coaches
All coaches wishing to access the training, warm-up and competition floor must be a minimum NCCP Level 2 Certified / Comp Introduction certified (theory, technical and practical) in the applicable discipline, either in WAG or MAG. See NCCP verification in Canada.
Judges
All MAG and WAG judges must have National or Brevet status in order to participate in the event. Must have completed the Safe Sport course online.
Volunteers
Online sign-ups will be available to the public on the event website. More information to come soon. All volunteers and staff must provide a vulnerable sector check when applying for job roles.
